Early days in introducing PBL

Post by Admin on Sun Mar 12, 2017 1:44 pm

I did some research in blending PBL with traditional lecturing with positive results. Lecturing is mostly done in the traditional way at our university, but three of my colleagues agreed to use PBL in some of their subjects as a test run. The PBL problems will be project based and will replace some of the traditional practicals within the electrical engineering field.

Instead of having a dedicated tutor for each group, we need to opt for one or two tutors moving between groups (most probably the subject lecturer and myself - if I'm available). It is important that this is as successful as possible for various reasons e.g. expansion of PBL, produce students who think critically, be able to design and do fault finding etc.

Any advice?
